Position Summary

Brado’s Insight Associate role is an entry level position for the person deeply curious about people. The role is focused on learning and growing through observation and execution of research projects.

Strategists are consultants, moderators / survey writers, planners, innovators, and behavioral scientists rolled into one. They are at the epicenter in each stage of the research and strategic process – from design, to implementation, to analysis, to facilitating activation workshops. Most importantly they deliver Strategic Insight that inspires our clients. Because of our roots in qualitative and quantitative research, strong experience in market research is a must. Above all, you must clearly have a passion for actively engaging, listening to, and understanding people.

This is not a behind-the-scenes role. Strategists are on the frontlines of client and agency-facing work and must quickly gain client confidence and build rapport. Our clients experience our Strategists as experts in every element of the strategic insight process. They are an expert in the nuances of marketing/communications. Strategists translate data and observations into meaningful, focused recommendations from breakthrough communications to empathetic customer experiences.

Strategists work in partnership and individually to represent Brado. They are self-motivated, needing little supervision. Everything they do embodies Brado’s core purpose of “inspiring the ideas and relationships that transform lives” and differentiating Brado from all other research firms and consultants. Our Strategists are exceptional in engaging people, research participants and clients. They are gifted strategic thinkers and clear, concise and compelling writers and story-tellers. They can inspire an audience through thought-provoking, provocative language (no filler, no marketing jargon).

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Writing: Writes first document draft of discussion guide/questionnaire based on project/client objectives. High attention-to-detail, ensures polished work, thorough proofing. Supports report writing by selecting and trimming quotes to bring the story to life.
  • Project Work: Begins to understand the scope of a project including milestones and timelines. Helps to drive the project forward by proactively offering specific and general assistance against key project milestones. Has an effective and efficient system for capturing and organizing analysis to support deliverables.
  • Research & Strategy: Shadows quantitative data gathering and analysis, asking questions to understand why certain approaches are used.
  • Proposals: Takes notes on Proposal Discovery Calls (PDCs) and proofs proposals.
  • Client Engagement: Is professional, courteous, and timely (e.g., within 24 hours) in all client engagements, written and live (phone, web, or in-person).

  • Coachable: Demonstrates a willingness and enthusiasm to learn new concepts, approaches, categories, etc. Easily coachable, as demonstrated by listening carefully and asking clarifying and expanding questions to deepen understanding. Applies feedback quickly and is willing to acknowledge when gaps exist in knowledge and skill. Takes responsibility for addressing those gaps either through external learning, shadowing others, or asking management team for help.
  • Team Player: Works well in a team environment to support work – collaborates, shares challenges, opportunities, rewards, and errors failures with the team.
  • Time Sensitive: Demonstrates willingness to quickly jump into projects and deliver, at skill and role level, what is necessary to get the work done. Accountable to individual timelines and supports the larger team in helping to deliver against project timelines.
  • Individual Contributor: Able to take on individual tasks assigned, knowing when to take the initiative to figure it out on own and when to ask for help.
  • Experience: Internship or prior work or volunteer experience that demonstrates curiosity, empathy, conviction.
  • Bachelor’s Degree ideally in business, journalism, marketing, economics, social sciences (psychology, anthropology, sociology).
