Data Processor (Market Research Survey Data)

Position Summary 

The Data Processor is responsible for ensuring data quality as well as providing additional accurate and crosstabs analysis within scheduled timelines for the Quantitative Research Team. This person is highly detail-oriented and is an expert in survey data processing and cross-tabulation. The Data Processor also has a customer service mindset and is effective at collaborating across internal teams and proactive problem-solving. This person understands each stage in a quantitative research project. This person works closely and collaboratively with other Data Processing & Analysis team members as well as Project Managers and Quantitative Researchers to ensure data tabulation and analysis needs are met for reporting and presentation. 

Key Areas of Responsibility  

  • Provide expert-level consultation for data processing, tabulation & analysis  
  • Fulfill data processing and tabulation needs for Quantitative Research team 
  • Proactively manage time and deadlines and proactively raise any concerns 
  • Provide consultation on table specs and recommendations for analysis 
  • Weight, clean, and prep data for analysis 
  • Check data files from vendors to ensure accuracy and completeness, check for response consistency across questions 
  • Implement stringent QC of data tables, including review of all tables for completeness and accuracy & train others on QC methods 
  • Ensure all project schedules are met in a timely manner, resolving issues that may arise 
  • Experience analyzing results from: MaxDiff, TURF, Factor Analysis, and other statistical methods preferred 
  • Advise internally on new and innovative options for data processing, analysis, and visualization 
  • Support making software & tech assessments 

Qualifications & Additional Basic Responsibilities  

  • Expertise in quantitative market research and survey methods, data analytics, and basic statistics required 
  • Ability to quickly gain expertise in new tools and software 
  • Expertise manipulating large data sets to produce response-based tables using Q Research, DisplayR, MarketSight, WinCross, SPSS, or other applicable software 
  • Advanced knowledge of survey analysis platforms (e.g., Sawtooth Lighthouse Studio, Q Research, DisplayR, MarketSight, SPSS, or Qualtrics) 
  • Understanding of statistical methods used in market research (Max-diff, choice modeling, TURF analysis, segmentation, multivariate regression, etc) 
  • Conduct advanced statistical analysis in collaboration with Research Statistician or Marketing Science lead 
  • Perform other essential duties that may arise such as coding open-end data and checking programming links 
  • Bachelor’s degree required 
  • 5+ years of experience working with survey data 
  • 3+ years working with data tabulation & analysis software 
  • Experience with data visualization and automation tools a plus
